Croatia Croatia Airlines introduces direct flights from Zadar, Croatia to Munich and Zurich

On May 12, at Zadar Airport, direct Croatia Airlines flights on the Zadar – Munich route were introduced in a ceremony.

After the Croatia Airlines aircraft, flight OU4433 Munich – Zadar, landed at Zadar Airport at 11:25 a.m., a press conference was held at the airport terminal, where the prefect of Zadar County, Stipe Zrilić, the director of Zadar Airport, Katica Pupić Bakrač, and the Executive Vice President of Croatia Airlines, Tonko Rilović.

The reinstatement of international Croatia Airlines flights from Zadar Airport, as was emphasized at the conference, is the result of joint efforts and cooperation between the Croatian flag carrier, the Zadar County Tourist Board, the tourist boards of the County's cities and municipalities, the units of local self-government and the Croatian National Tourist Board, through joint marketing activities and joint advertising in 2011.

Direct flights on the Zadar – Munich route, which are planned to be established by the end of September this year, offer passengers from Zadar County direct connections with Munich, and via Munich with other European and global destinations. The new route offers passengers from Munich and the region of Bavaria in Germany, from which, traditionally, many tourists arrive to Croatia, the fastest connection to Zadar and Central Dalmatia.

Croatia Airlines aircraft on the Zadar – Munich route will fly twice a week – on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays, aircraft departs from Zadar at 11:40 a.m., and arrives in Munich at 1:20 p.m. It departs from Munich at 2:15 p.m., landing in Zadar at 3:40 p.m. On Thursdays, departure from Zadar Airport is at 7:30 a.m., and arrival in Munich is at 9:10 a.m. Aircraft departs from Munich at 10 a.m., and arrives in Zadar at 11:25 a.m.

Tickets for these flights can be purchased via the company's website www.croatiaairlines.com starting from just 106 EUR, and the price includes all taxes and charges, free transport of 20 kg of luggage, food and drinks on board, newspapers on board and the collection of bonus miles.

By introducing return flights between Zadar and Munich, Croatia Airlines contributes to the development of the tourist capacities of Zadar County and the City of Zadar, as well as the development of Croatian tourism as an important industry.

The Croatian flag carrier will offer additional quality to air travel by introducing a new international route, Zadar – Zurich. From 20 May to 30 September this year, Croatia Airlines aircrafts will fly on this route twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays. Thus, the company will have an even stronger involvement in promoting the Republic of Croatia as a flight destination, while at the same time provide even stronger support to the operations of Zadar Airport and other participants in the civil aviation system – air traffic controls, suppliers, etc.

This season, the company offers direct daily flights to some thirty large European cities, and reinforces its position as the regional leader in South-East Europe by developing the network business model. It should be stressed that new routes from Zadar to Munich and Zurich also improve the global product of the Star Alliance association, of which Croatia Airlines is a full member, and offers passengers the option to use a number of benefits of this airline association. Airlines which are Star Alliance members currently offer more than 21,000 daily flights, serving 1,160 destinations in 181 countries.

The Croatia Airlines fleet consists of thirteen aircrafts – three Airbus 320 aircrafts (capacity: 162 seats), four Airbus 319 aircrafts (capacity: 132 seats) and six Dash 8-Q400 turboprop aircrafts (capacity: 76 seats)
